Education.

Lets learn together.

How this could work:

  • One on one education to teach you or to teach your children along side you.

  • Gather together 4 or 5 other parents with children around the same age and Becoming will put on a personalized age appropriate workshop on topics you’re interested in. This can be a workshop for the kids, for the adults or for a mix of both.

  • Have Becoming help throw a coming-of age celebration for your kiddo(s) as they start their journey into puberty.

  • Meet sexual health learning outcomes for children who are being home schooled or are in learning pods.

  • Support in advocating your child’s school to have Becoming come into your child classroom to meet BC provincial sexual health education learning outcomes.

Education for children, teens and their adults.

Becoming offers education for children, teens, parents and other adults who influence the lives of young people. We can host workshops to supplement the education your child may or may not be getting in school.

Education topics include (but are not limited to):

  • Modeling and teaching consent to our children from birth. Learning the fundamentals of early human development and how we can empower our children to be capable and kind.

  • Elimination Communication as an alternative and additional tool to potty training. Not sure what Elimination Communication is? Click HERE to read a bit more about it.

  • Body science for preschool and elementary school aged children and their big people. Learning names for body parts, finding our voices, how our bodies work and how our bodies are different and the same.

  • Puberty education. Talking about all bodies, how we are alike and varied. This type of education aims to foster understanding and compassion for people who’s bodies grow differently than ours.

  • Safer Sex without the Shame. Teaching STIs, birth control, how to put on a condom (internal and external) and what sex even is! All taught in a way that helps empower the learner with tools and information to make informed choices, navigate sexual consent and understand risk without fear and shame.

  • 2SLGBTQ+ Topics. Learn terminology and history in a compassionate and judgement free environment so you can support your queer kid, talk about your own identity with your children, feel prepared to have conversations about gender and sexuality with your kids and foster acceptance and love for families who may be different than your own.

  • Foundational relationship and sexual health education for people with neurodiversity. Whether it’s for yourself, your kid or for your clients, Becoming can help tailor education for the specific needs of individuals.

  • Parenting Classes. Whether you want to become a more askable adult, be able to talk to your kids about sex or learn some early childhood educators’ tricks to create a more smooth day for your family (spoiler: it’s all about understanding human development), Becoming can help you.
