You Have the Power to Protect Children
This training will give you the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to do exactly that.
Join a 5 hour, trauma informed, in-person training designed to help adults prevent, recognize, and respond responsibly to child sexual abuse.
This workshop has two parts.
The first half (~2.5-3 hrs) is a certified training in the Stewards of Children® program, a Darkness to Lighttraining. Participants learn through watching videos which interview a very diverse group of people with lived experience, experts, and treatment providers. These narrations weave a cohesive picture that dispels common myths, fosters understanding and empathy and offers practical, real-world tools you can take into your family, workplace, and community. Steph thoughtfully supports participants through these videos with somatic movement breaks and other trauma informed facilitation in order to help each participant stay in a grounded and rest-and-digest state.
Stewards of Children® is an award-winning, evidence-informed, adult-focused child sexual abuse prevention trainings based out of the United States, proven to increase knowledge and change behavior.
The second half (~2-2.5 hrs) Steph leads participants through debrief, discussions and a deeper exploration on how to implement what we’ve learned into our families, organizations and communities.

Why This Work Matters
Most child sexual abuse is perpetrated by someone known to the child—and often goes unrecognized or unreported.
Conservative statistic say 1 in 10 children will experience sexual abuse before age 18.
Prevention starts with informed, supported adults.
This training is about building awareness, confidence, and the ability to take meaningful action—so that children are safer in the spaces where they live, learn, and grow.
